County of Nelson Public Hearing Notice Nelson County Board of Supervisors Norwood Historic District The Nelson County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on May 24, 2012 at 7:00 o’clock pm or shortly thereafter, in the Board of Supervisors Room of the Courthouse in Lovingston, Virginia. 2012 Draft Regional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan (2012/4/18)

A complete draft of the Regional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan is available for public comment between March 16, 2012 and April 16, 2012. The purpose of the plan is to help our communities take action to prepare for natural disasters beforehand, thus reducing loss of life and property damage when they do occur. After review from the public, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a revised plan will be presented in a public hearing with the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission for adoption. The plan will also be considered for approval by each locality in the Planning District.
